Pre-onboarding checklist

Onboarding starts before the first day. To ensure a smooth onboarding process, work with the hiring manager to collect information that will help you get ready for IT setup. 

Make sure you have the new hire's:

  • Name
  • Contact details
  • Job title
  • Department
  • Starting date
  • The software they’ll need for their job

Order equipment the new hire will need, including:

  • Laptop or Desktop
  • Monitor
  • Mouse
  • Keyboard
  • Cables
  • USB sticks
  • Phone

Determine which software, tools, and access rights the new hire will need. This can include:

  • Company email
  • Internal messaging (e.g. Slack, Skype)
  • HR software (e.g Grove HR)
  • Productivity tools (e.g. Trello, ToDoist, Asana)
  • Analytics (Tableau, Google Analytics)
  • Spreadsheets
  • Shared documents 

✅ Receive authorization from the senior management team to set up new accounts.
